This article demonstrates how to connect to the SSAS data cube, GSF_Titanium, using Power BI Desktop and Excel.
Connection details for GSF_Titanium:
If you are working offsite, please make sure you are connected to the VPN before connecting to GSF_Titanium. Please note that once you are connected to GSF_Titanium, you are unable to connect to other data sources. If you need to connect to other data sources, we recommend connecting to the cloud data warehouse tables instead.
Connecting to GSF_Titanium using Excel:
1. Open a new Excel file. Go to Data tab on the ribbon, select Get Data – From Database – From Analysis Services.
2. Fill in “uskibisql3” for Server name, select Use Windows Authentication, then click Next.
4. Click Finish
5. Choose the desired data view for your Excel workbook, which is typically a PivotTable. After making your selection, click OK.
6. You are ready to build your report.
Connecting to GSF_Titanium using Power BI Desktop:
1. Open a new Power BI Desktop file. Go to the Home tab on your ribbon, select Get data – Analysis Services.
2. Fill in the connection information, then select OK.
3. Select Model, then click OK.
4. You are ready to build your report.
