LabVantage has a storage system that can be used to store samples in specified locations.

Receiving and Storing a sample from the Sample -> Receive tramstop

• Select the sample, go to Storage, then Receive and Assign Storage
• A new window will pop up
  
• The Storage Location field is expecting a storageunitid (example: SU-0000000863)
• If you have a label and a barcode scanner, you can scan the id directly into the Storage Location field.  If it is a retain, tick the Retain Sample check box.
  
• If you don't have a barcode label and scanner, you can do a lookup with the lookup icon next to the Storage Location field.  This will allow searching against the Storage Unit and Label Path columns.
  
  
• Click OK after selecting/entering the storage unit id and it will receive and store the sample in the designated location.

There are also additional Assign Storage buttons in other pages along the Samples tramline.  All Assign Storage buttons function in the same manner.
