You can hide items throughout the system so they can't be used or new versions be generated from them.  You're unable to delete items from the system that have been used anywhere, which makes this especially useful for product variants/test plans because they aren't version controlled and can't be expired.


Hiding an item

  • Select an item, then go to Other Tasks -> Hide Records.  
  • This will hide the item from the list page and the lookup tools.  These are both missing PV-0000002 now that it has been hidden.

  • Once you do this, it is hidden from sight and you won't be able to see it or look it up unless you enable Show Hidden Records.  Use the show/hide feature to see any items that have been hidden, it's in the profile menu.
  • After enabling the Show Hidden Settings option, you'll see an icon on the list pages for items that were previously hidden.  There is also a new status displayed in the lower Labvantage bar.
  • To change back to hiding the hidden records, you can do it in the profile menu or double click the Showing All Records status at the bottom of the page
  • To unhide an item, select it then go to Other Tasks -> Show Records.

  • After shown/unhidden, you'll see the records displayed again in the list page and lookups.
