The purpose of this workflow is to add a new sample and retain, when needed, to a batch upon the sample reviewdisposition of another sample assigned to the batch being set to Resampled.  This will keep the batch in the Active status, preventing it from moving forward for the QA release.  The new sample and retain are added as unreceived so they will both need to be received before the batch can progress.  This is an Event Plan and will be triggered automatically.

  • Select Resampled as the sample Disposition and click the Review button.
  • A new sample will be created with the same specs, tests, and datasets.  The new sample will be created with " Resample" added to the end of the description.  This sample will appear in the Receive tramstop because it is not autoreceived.
  • If the batch contains any retains, a new retain will be created with " Resample Retain" added to the description.  The new retain will also appear in the Receive tramstop.
  • When the new samples are delivered to the lab, they will need to be received, and stored in the case of the retain.
  • The sample will undergo testing as usual.  Any additional testing and/or replicates will need to be manually added, because the script creates a copy of the original sample and tests/reps.
  • The remaining steps follow the standard workflow for sample data approval/review and batch release.
