Save SDS Preview from 3E Generate.

 

When trying to save a preview PDF from 3E Generate it defaults to saving the file on the CITRIX server. To change this behavior, do the following.

 

  • Logon to 3E Generate.
  • Open a Material.
  • Preview the Material.

 

 

  • When the PDF Preview opens, click “File” and “Save as…”.

 

 

  • Click “Choose a Different Folder…”.

 

 

  • Expand “Local Disk (C: on XXXX_XXXXXXXX)”
    • Where “XXXX_XXXXXXX” is your computer name.
      • Your computer name usually contains your username.
    • In my example it’s “USKI_JPAGE”.
    • Look for the instructions on finding your computer name (Device name) at the end of this document.

 

 

  • Expand “Users”.
  • Find and Expand your “username”.
  • Select the folder you prefer to use:
    • Downloads (Used in this example)
    • Desktop
    • Documents
    • Or create a specifically for this:
      • “SDS Previews” for example.
  • Click “Save”.

 

 

  • The Preview PDF has been saved to the location selected.

 

 

  • The next time you Preview a PDF, the previously used location should be selectable from the “Save in Recent Folder…” dialog box.
  • Click the Location you’d like to use.

 

 

  • Then click “Save”.

 

 

 

Find your computer name:

  • Click the “Start” Button.
  • Click the “Gear” icon for the “Settings” menu or “Control Panel” icon for the “Control Panel” menu.

 

 

  • Click “System”.

 

 

  • Click “About” (it’s at the bottom of the list.)
  • Look for “Device Name:”
    • Your computer name is listed here.
    • This is used in the steps, above, when selecting the local disk on your computer.
