Only the meeting organizer from the desktop version of Teams can create and manage breakout rooms in a teams meeting. You will also want to make sure you have the most current version of Teams on your desktop by clicking on your profile circle ( icon on top right of Teams screen) and choose the "Check for Updates" option. You will then see a small message appear that states "We will check and install any updates while you continue to work".

Then to use the breakout rooms option , follow the steps below:

• Adding people to the meeting from the participants panel
• Adding additional people to the meeting chat
• Copying the "join meeting" info
