Open any M3 program and select Tools / User settings

A panel with user settings opens.

1. Recommend to select ‘Display system messages in dialog window’, so it will clearly show in the middle of your screen.

If not selected, it will only show in the left bottom – less visual. Very often users don’t notify this.

2. Display company and division information on the status bar

When selected, the environment and division is displayed on the right,  in the status bar:

3. Use plus key as tab

If selected, you can use the plus key on your numeric keyboard as a tab key. Some users might like that to jump to the next field, to do multiple entries in one panel.

4. Expand list

Most users probably prefer to not select this.

If selected, you have to click as per below to show more details in some M3 programs.

If expand list is not selected, it automatically shows more details:

5. Use small view for panel navigator

If not selected, more details are displayed. Also better visualization when included in screen shots, to share information in your team.

If small view is selected, only the dots are displayed. However, still shows the panel you’re in.

6. Show program ID

Recommend to select, as it’s easier to communicate with screen shots, also better if used in user manuals…

If not:

7. Start pages

Recommend to select ‘Start pages’, so it will not only show favorites and and recent programs, but also other widgets you might want to use.

Finally, please don’t forget to save your changes at the bottom of the panel
