A new M3 field has been added to the existing SSAS_KMN data model. This field is “Sales Channel” and is based on the Sales Channel field which can be found on the customer master and is also referred to as User Defined Field 10. This field contains information regarding the sales channel of a customer, with values such as “distributor” and “premix” and “pet food manufacturer”. This data is already used to further categorize customers, and so bringing that data into the SSAS_KMN data model that is based on the global sales file was a simple thing to do that can bring a lot of value to our global reporting.
