Microsoft Teams is a popular collaboration platform that allows users to conduct meetings, share files, and communicate with colleagues. One of the key features of Teams is the ability to record meetings, which can be useful for future reference or for those who were unable to attend. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to record a meeting in Teams.

If you are hosting a meeting in Teams, you can easily record it by following these steps:

  • Start the meeting: Begin the meeting as you normally would by clicking on the "Meet Now" button or scheduling a meeting in advance.

  • Start recording: Once the meeting has started, click on the "..." button in the meeting controls and select "Start recording" from the dropdown menu.

  • Confirm recording: A notification will appear on the screen to inform all participants that the meeting is being recorded. Click on "Start recording" to confirm.

  • Stop recording: To stop the recording, click on the "..." button again and select "Stop recording" from the dropdown menu.

  • Save the recording: Once the recording has stopped, Teams will automatically save the file to the cloud. You can access the recording by going to the meeting chat and clicking on the "..." button next to the recording and selecting "Save as" to save it to your computer.

Notes:

  • Recording continues even if the person who started the recording has left the meeting.
  • The recording stops automatically once everyone leaves the meeting.
  • If someone forgets to leave the meeting, the recording automatically ends after four hours.
