1. Getting permissions to open the data cube

Before accessing the SSAS Stock Evolution data cube you need to make sure your account has been granted with necessary access rights. To do this you can proceed as follows>

Go to the IT service catalog

click on Submit a Request

Then select the Access Request link

This will bring you to the Kemin IT Access request form


Enter your data in the upper section, then select the SSAS Data Access and PowerBI App Access (1) option from the Access Request Type  menu and tick the Stock Evolution box (2)

Click Save button, this will trigger an automatic process. You’ll be notified via an help desk ticket when your account has been provisioned with necessary access rights.

2. Opening the Stock Evolution report with Excel

Open Excel, the go to Data (1) -> Get Data (2) -> From Database (3) -> From Analysis Services

Enter the database name ssas.kemin.com, then click on next



Select the StockEvolution database (1), then select the StockEvolution cube (2) and click on Finish (3).



Import the data to a Pivot Table report



The data cube contains one Fact table called Stock Evolution Data



And 4 dimension tables.

For instance, if you configure the pivot table as showed on the left, you’ll get the pivot table showed on the right here below.
